I was born into a rather traditional family. In every city I have lived in, there was always a dedicated space in my wardrobe for bras. After moving to Berlin, however, this object slowly withdrew from my daily life—becoming transparent, tending toward the invisible—yet it never disappeared.
Knarren is a German noun with no precise equivalent in Chinese. Since moving onto a boat,I have come to know it intimately: the anchor chains fastening and stabilizing the boat, while allowing it to drift in whichever direction it pleases. That creaking resonance—Knarren—accompanies both my waking hours and my dreams.
From this experience emerged this work: a glass-bra woven and bound in chain's fashion. Like a moored boat, it drifts freely with the current—yet the point of connection always produces subtle creaks. It is at once an echo and a bodily memory—a freedom pulled taut, a resilient resonance inscribed into the very cells of the body.
